TriStar Ashland City Medical Center Earns “Top 20 Best Practices in Patient Satisfaction”

May 08, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 7, 2014)The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) recently announced TriStar Ashland City Medical Center as one of the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States for patient satisfaction.

CAHs offer 24/7 care for patients and many of the same services as a traditional hospital, but are community-based and located in rural areas.  According to the NRHA, CAHs serve an estimated 62 million Americans – or nearly 25% of the country’s population.

Using publically available data, the NRHA conducted a comprehensive comparison of 1,267 Critical Access Hospitals assessing multiple performance indicators.  Of the CAHs compared, TriStar Ashland City was recognized as a “Top 20 Best Practices in Patient Satisfaction”.  This ranking is based on data compiled by iVantage Health Analytics in its Hospital Index, specifically the patient perspectives domain, also known as HCAHPS

TriStar Ashland City Administrator, Darrell White, RN, MBA, attributes the high patient satisfaction scores to a number of variables, but says it boils down to culture, employee engagement, and hiring the right talent and cultural fit for each position.  “Our employees are highly engaged, committed to the Ashland City community, and deeply devoted to patients.  We are ‘neighbors taking care of neighbors’ and our team has achieved that personal touch that can be difficult to emulate in larger facilities.”

In addition to its devoted staff, TriStar Ashland City has convenient parking and is easily and quickly accessible to the residents of Cheatham County.  “Our Emergency Room has some of the best door to greet by physician times in the region.”

“Our nurses and ancillary staff have the same expert training as our tertiary hospital, TriStar Centennial Medical Center, which is located in downtown Nashville, Tenn.,” said White.  “Our clinical outcomes, electronic medical records (EMR), barcode medication administration (BCMA), cardiac monitoring, and equipment rival that of many larger facilities.”  TriStar Ashland City also recently announced the addition of telemedicine technology that allows instant, life-saving access for acute stroke care.

“We are deeply honored by this NRHA recognition,” says White.  “TriStar Ashland City is committed to providing exceptional care for the residents of Cheatham County and will continue to explore innovative ways to deliver personal, compassionate care that is worthy of such an honor.”
