Our rehabilitation services

We offer three main types of rehabilitation for our patients: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Physical therapy

Physical therapy is an important part of treatment if you have pain or movement problems resulting from disability or disease. Through proper evaluation and treatment, physical therapy can reduce pain and disability and maximize functional potential.

Physical therapists also help promote a healthy lifestyle through education about personal fitness and injury prevention.

Physical therapy may be recommended for:

  • Back and neck pain and injuries
  • Balance disorders
  • Orthopedic injuries and disorders
  • Pre- and post-operative care
  • Secondary headaches caused by an injury, infection or high blood pressure
  • Sports- and work-related injuries

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is designed to help you complete daily activities, both at home and work. This type of therapy may involve helping students participate in school and social situations, or it may focus on helping adults regain skills lost after a cerebrovascular accident (stroke), injury or illness.

Our occupational therapy services include:

  • Assessment of living or working environment and adaptation recommendations
  • Treatment of traumatic or repetitive injuries of the hands and upper extremities
  • Help in improving endurance through energy conservation and work simplification techniques
  • Therapy to improve motor development, communication skills and daily living activities

Occupational therapy may be recommended for:

  • Neurological disorders
  • Orthopedic injuries and disorders
  • Work-related injuries

Speech therapy

Speech therapy is a type of rehabilitation designed to treat speech and language disorders. Speech therapists treat conditions such as physical speech disabilities, voice disorders, hearing loss and language delays.

Speech therapists work with all age ranges and can assess many communication and swallowing problems. They will work with you if you're recovering from neurological conditions such as a head injury or stroke.

Speech therapy may be recommended for:

  • Conditions affecting fluency, motor speech and voice
  • Issues with language comprehension and usage
  • Linguistic problems affecting language cognition and problem-solving skills
  • Counseling for the surgical removal of the larynx (laryngectomy)
  • Swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
